"The Sense Of..." IX

trapped trapped trapped behind the mask…

All my own images.

If anyone is interested in more about why and how I do what I do – you’re welcome to have a look here
I was very nicely given the opportunity to finally put a bit more ‘out there’ what all this is about. It’s a long read though, but I’m not fussed if you get bored part way through and give up…

A little odd though – I have no idea if this image I’ve just uploaded is “Art” or “Photography”..... Seems a stupid question anyway.

Please have a look LARGE, these images always show better bigger – thanks :)

Wow, I don’t know what I’m looking but it’s very interesting.
    Great work xx

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thanks Rouble – as a ‘hint’ – think hair, hand and shoulder…..
I’m pretty heavily into ‘motion blur’ right now, I think ;)

Seem as though you about to blend with the b/g…a bit errie, but I like it!

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thank you Richard! “Eerie” is good, as far as I am concerned… and the concept behind these series IS very much about a sense of ‘existing or not’, so seeming to blend into the background probably ‘fits’ well with that…
O – just for interest, this is really only 1 photograph, with just a couple other macro images layered in for added tonality and light…

Love what you’ve done here, the motion blur adds so much to the atmosphere!

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thanks so much TSOUL! Appreciate your comment lots – that’s what I try to do with the motion blur so great to hear that is ‘works’ for you :)))

can’t it be art and photography?
another really fantastic image K – I get a real sense of being trapped, like a bird beating it’s wings against the glass.

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thanks J! I’m so glad you can sense that in this image – and my little ‘aside’ re art OR photography was actually aimed at the new RB uploading page which states “upload you art OR photography”... I – like you – do NOT think those things are mutually exclusive, as the RB servers now appear to….

    Steve Sharp

Very effective use of motion blur, I love it!

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thanks – I actually like it too… And that seems to match pretty well with the fact it’s had relatively very little attention here, compared to some of my other stuff ;)))

You’re a master of mystery. Nice shot!

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thank you – very much appreciated! It actually takes a bit of effort to ‘get’ a shot like this… (and – I’ll take ‘mistress of mystery’ quite happily too lol – and don’t worry – I know it’s hard to tell from my avatar if I’m a girl or boy dragonfly…)

  • DragonFlyer replied

    No problems – truly. I’ve had lots of people assume I’m a guy… ;)

Your art is the question that screams out the answer! Enigmatic is the image that forms the stillness of movement. Art as no true name for only its creator holds it soul. If you deem it art then give it life friend! Love this!!!...)o(

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thank you for your wise words my friend – yes, this image has meaning for me – I am very happy to hear it has some resonance with you too :))
