Mel Brackstone
Oh boy, I just LOVE this! Ethereal and beautiful, love the lightness and darkness…
DragonFlyer replied
WOW! Thanks so much Mel! What a huge compliment! I was part way into this series when my computer broke down… just starting back on these images again now – though, I have to admit, the break did me good. I actually find these quite emotionally draining to do :)))

Carol Berliner

aglaia b
love the movement, and i totally love how you use all your own textures too. that’s so grand. ;-) xox
DragonFlyer replied
Thanks so much Aglaia – these images take a bit out of me, have to admit – they’re quite emotional to do – and re the textures, I have flirted a LOT with the idea of using stock, but I find I have a sort of emotional / feeling link to my own images and can use MY images in a way that sort of ‘flows’ for me. I lose that with others’ images… So I’m just stuck having to spend heaps of time out photographing rusted metal, flaking paint, wood grain, concrete etc etc etc…
K xx
Mel Brackstone
Sorry to hear these images are so draining to complete!
DragonFlyer replied
That’s ok – I think if they weren’t, they probably would not ‘work’ as they do, and – I think that is how I ‘work’ most of the time anyway :)))
Peter Davidson
Good image, like it. Have you thought of offering these for book cvers? Publishing houses love this.
DragonFlyer replied
Thanks Peter! Book covers????? Never occurred to me! I’m just a beginner! How would I go about doing that?
Peter Davidson
Send a sample of your images to as many publishers you can find.

DragonFlyer replied
Thank you so much AGAIN Colleen – yes, I think the ‘break’ was for the good. It was much easier now to see how the image(s) need to be ‘finished’ :)))

Jan Timmons 15 days ago
I think it’s a bit similar to tossing spaghetti at the fridge to see what sticks. How about a gorgeous macro (Phyllis likes those) and another subtle one, as this one is—by subtle I mean you’re not holding a large knife.
DragonFlyer replied 15 days ago
LOL – I just HAVE to laugh at that Jan… I already tried ‘Control I’ – the ultimate in subtlety, I think – AND I really like it – but that was rejected right off…
whisperjo 12 days ago
Super effect!
