Colleen Milburn
This is an exceptional piece of work, K. The innocence of the tulle (oh, divine!) along with the the pose, the soft fly-away hair, the gorgeous cracked textures and composition is first-class. An easy fave for me, and I would fave it 100 times if I could. Well done, my friend!! :))
DragonFlyer replied
WOW!!! Thank you Colleen – what an amazing list of awesome compliments!!!!! Thank you so so much! This is actually 1 of about 50 images – similar – that I’m fiddling with editing at the moment (relax… I sure won’t post them ALL lol) that turned out ok enough to work on from a shoot where I took nearly 400… And, as I hadn’t added any layers to the ‘hands’, I decided that I’d layer these for a different ‘feel’... :)))

WOW you amaze me with the depth of your work!
DragonFlyer replied
WOW!!! You amaze ME with your wonderful comments… I DO always try to really ‘feel’ what it is that I’m doing as I’m taking the photos, but the strange thing is that what they seem to end up conveying is not always what I thought it was I was ‘feeling’ – but I always work out that what the image conveys is ‘right’ – not what I ‘thought’ at the time… :)))

Martin Muir

Love the title…...sometimes we take it ..sometimes we give into it
Great sense of struggle …and powerful imagery !
DragonFlyer replied
Yes. I think that is pretty much exactly what I was feeling as I did this… Thank you Michele – very much appreciated :)))

Matthew Pugh
This is a fantastic shot. As someone who works in psychiatric settings this really captures something for me. You’ve capture the feeling so well. Bravo!
DragonFlyer replied
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment Matthew – I’ll admit I’ve been in those settings too – on BOTH sides of the doors…..

like a fallen ballerina. your work is becoming softer, more feminine my friend. maybe you are finding something lost. your work is always so inspiring.
DragonFlyer replied
Maybe… you always show me something in my work that I am not yet aware of myself… Thank you enormously for that.

I truly hold you in awe DF! Your art is incredible in so many ways. This is a great idea, shot and processing but you add just one word “control” to the title and suddenly you pierce right into the heart. Each hour I spend looking at one of your pieces I wonder not only at how you can create such strong emotion, but how you create such a mix of emotions each and every time. I agree with Clare above .. Another Masterpiece!
DragonFlyer replied
Wow – thank you for such incredibly amazing praise Darryl! You do absolute wonders for my confidence in my own ability… As to how I can ‘create such a mix of strong emotion’..... I’m not sure – I’ve very very glad to hear that apparently I can – the only thing that I know of that MAY contribute to this is that – to cut a VERY LOOONG story short – I have ‘lived’ an awful lot…..

Let me say that the finest detail of this work is emotion.
DragonFlyer replied
Thank you L. That was my first priority in creating it :)))

Shoaib .
love this … so much raw emotion in here.. and the title control… i think .. is she OUT of control… has she LOST control ? does she feel like shes never had it …
great work
DragonFlyer replied
hanks friend – I think the answer to your questions above is yes – to any and / or all of them… but I think I might have one more question in mind – is someone else forcing her to submit unwillingly to their control?
