Wow – thanks for your lovely comment Bob! to be honest, I wasn’t expecting much of a response to this one – but then – I’m very often wrong on that count lol :)))

  • Tara Turner

    Tara Turner

    fantastic!

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thank you so much Tara! I wasn’t too sure how this one was ‘working’, as I was trying a whole lot of new textures I’d shot only in the past few days for the first time, so I wasn’t too sure quite how they would best be used – though – I fiddled till it seemed ok… :)))

  • TaniaLosada

    TaniaLosada

  • DragonFlyer replied

Wow! Thank you Tania! It’s great to get a response like this as I wasn’t sure how these new textures would best ‘work’... :)))

    Selkie

    Jayzus, woman…this is really stunning.

  • DragonFlyer replied

Ta. I’m glad it seems to ‘work’ – some new textures and new post process that I fiddled with – so I wasn’t really sure what I was going to come up with… :)))

  • Matt Bottos

    Matt Bottos

Stunningly powerful as usual! This one has a bit more colour than what you normally use. Love the texture treatment!

  • DragonFlyer replied

Phew… thanks Matt! Yes, the colour is mainly straight from the texture images. I tried desaturating this, but it seemed to me to be ‘stronger’ with the colour for a change… that surprised me, as I usually feel that closer to monotone is stronger in general… so I wasn’t sure either… :)))

  • parmi

    parmi

Brilliant work! Such a feeling of desperate escape in this, mixed with total fear. Great horror theme in this, love the darkness.

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thanks again for such a wonderful comment. The theme behind the atmosphere of this image is – as I described in my reply to you on ‘The Portrait of Child Abuse’ – the same thing again. You put into words that you sense from this image pretty much exactly the kinds of aspects of that experience that I was hoping to express. Thank you

god I love your work. I don’t know what it is that draws me too it, maybe it is the literary story telling within it, maybe its the actual images themselves.. whatever it is, its fucking brilliant!!!!!!!!!!
