    Powerful again…......................love the layers and treatment…......great series…

  • DragonFlyer replied

Wow! Thanks Tracey! I’m super glad you like it – I learn from every image of yours I see :)))

    Colleen Milburn

The treatment on your hand series is wonderful, K – I wonder how you made this texture?

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thanks Colleen! There’s heaps of layers of images of brushed back rusted metal – various shots so the texture is different in different spots, and several different images of cobwebs that were covering a spot on a tree… all in different ‘blending modes’ and erased back in various places over and under and inbetween agout 4 layers of the ‘hand’... again in different blending modes… hmmm… I actually think that all the ‘texture’ images are macros…

    acs565

This is wonderful dark and scary really well done.
I have photoshop I should really learn it. I maybe use 1% of it.

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thanks Bob! That’s the situation I was in about a month ago, then I was so inspired by the fantastic work I was seeing here on RB I started browsing lots of the artists that were good at it and here and there through their work picked up tips… and I spent LOTS of time at my computer just ‘clicking on things’ in PS to see what happened ;)
    Cheers :)))

  • Colleen Milburn

    Colleen Milburn

Hmmm… you lost me after ‘Thanks Colleen’ Lol!! No, actually I understand your ‘words’, but I’m still very slowly working the blending modes out. I never thought I was a slow learner before! I think I need someone to stand over me with a big stick, because I get distracted! Hehe… thanks for that, sweetie :))

  • DragonFlyer replied

    Well – to make the blending modes ‘easy’ – the main ones to stick to are ‘normal’ and ‘hard light’. Then just keep on clicking on the others to see what happens – maybe one of them will be better… there’s always the ‘edit – undo’ ;

  • Ingz

    Ingz

Another excellent piece of art Kallena! i think it might be my favourite ‘hand’. I would love to try this but i am terrible with photoshop, a real slow learner. I learnt the orton effect quite easily as it was explained in real simple words! xxx have a lovely weekend and easter my friend xxxx

  • DragonFlyer replied

Thank you so much Ingrid! I think the way I learnt PS was by becoming ‘obsessive’ – just sitting in front of it any spare minute I had and clicking on any command I could find to see what happened ;)))

  • KristineNora

    KristineNora

some times you are down… and there is not a reach …and some one just has to yank you up by the short hairs ...and you look with wide eyes

    and

    say thank you

    and smile

thank you for seeing me go down so deep.

  • DragonFlyer replied

It’s trully a big thing to be able to accept the help we are offered Kristine – some don’t always find it that ‘easy’... Thank you for your heartfelt comments :)))

great one Kallena . best one yet in this series
    ...roy :xx

  • DragonFlyer replied

thanks very much Roy! I have to admit – I think I’m ‘hooked’ on this one… i really only had the one image in mind when I did the first ‘hand’, but took so many photos of ‘hands’ to get the image I wanted that I’ve found there are LOTS more that are expressive in other ways too…
