Angkor's Beginnings
Phnom Kulen is where the Age of Angkor all began. It is the mountain where King Jayavarman II initiated the Royal God of the Linga cult in 802AD, declaring a unified & independent Khmer empire with a single ruler.
Here lies the River of 1000 Linga.
I really wish I’d known there would be a waterfall & water flowing like this before we’d left. I would have been far less inclined to leave my tripod behind in the guesthouse back in Siem Reap.
I was leaning over a rope fence, pointing my camera back up the river hoping like anything I could keep the camera still long enough for the settings I’d chosen. Personally, I’m really happy with what I came away with.

Thanks chick!
I’m still shocked I held the camera still enough… if I thought I could handle the climb again this year I’d go back with tripod in hand, but it may have to wait for next year. I’d love to get more of a misty look alongside those carvings.

interesting… mist may make it look less rough… too gentle. i just love that the water is hitting it all so hard but its still there
