Our Lady of Revelation by

The original work is made of cut paper (with ink and paint additions). It is a depiction of the Blessed Virgin standing “clothed like the sun,” and with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head, as described in the biblical Book of Revelation as a part of the author’s elaborate vision of heavenly things. Images on this pattern have been traditionally associated with Mary’s “immaculate conception.”
