Thanks guys – the framing is very easy to do in Photoshop (not sure on Elements). I used flash for this shot, but the others in this series were done with natural light. I noticed this Skipper when walking our dog through a local park. Not being a shy one, I got the shot by lying down flat on the ground and carefully approaching the butterfly. Similar techniques work well for approaching Dragonflies as well.
Thank you! They’re pretty cool for Butterflies, if they rest, they’ll usually let you get a bunch of shots, unlike most Butterflies from my experience. They’re quite pretty as well.
Thanks Jesika. I spotted a very nice looking Skipper yesterday at work during my lunch break, but alas, no camera…couldn’t have gotten close enough to have grabbed a shot anyways :( Saw 2 or 3 other beautiful butterflies, but they don’t stay still :(

Beautifully presented
Thank you Sharon. I used to do these borders in Photoshop, but now I do more simple borders that take less time. I’m too lazy to set up an action!
Great macro

Outstanding excellent light and color, beautiful!
