You were my friend and my brother
I only have one other.
Always there whenever I needed to talk
Always ready another mile to walk.
The news I received that day was devastating
How could this have happened to you?
In my grief I found myself underestimating
The power of God to comfort and show me love.
Now I have peace, though sad at times,
For I know when Jesus comes from above
I will see you from the grave arise.

My Brother
I was born in Northridge, California in 1955. As the baby girl of the family, I was raised by my dad and brothers, Allen and Irvin. “My Brother” is about the older of my two brothers. The intense pain I felt, and still feel, after losing Allen is worse than the pain I felt losing my dad, in part because now as never before I am forced to face my mortality. At the same time, I have this hope: there will be a great resurrection morning when Jesus comes to awaken His own to eternal life.

So, you’ve made you’re way onto the Bubble…How in the world? I’m glad you’ve found peace…Bubble me and tell me everything….

I just wanted to see what the Bubble is all about. Nice place. I like that I can do my writing here for others to see and make comments on. This is much better than Poetry.com. They keep telling me I have been named poet of 2007 and am entitled to wear the commemorative pin, but want me to pay a hefty $75.00 for the priviledge. I don’t think so…I want my work to be appreciated for what it’s worth, if nothing at all.
I have really enjoyed your photos. You’re quite talented.
Let’s keep in touch.

Thank you, Dottie! I’m glad you like it here….Poetry.com..sad to say is a scam like Picture.com…...The more time you spend on here and join poetry groups and comment on others work, the more people will come round and comment….....Enjoy….!!!!! I’m behind on my comments, I’m hoping to catch up tomorrow!!!!

Thank you, Lori. I lost my brother in 2003, but it feels as though it just happened, especially when I want to talk to him.
