OK, so here’s the situation. You’re wandering along with your camera looking for a good spot for a photo and you see some craggy-faced-semi-ugly old man/woman that would be perfect for a black and white portrait.

How do you go about getting the photo?
a) go and hide behind a bush with a long lense and get it from afar.
b) ask if they wouldn’t mind if you took the photo but don’t tell them why.
c) ask if they wouldn’t mind if you took the photo and tell them why.
d) just snap them, brazen as anything and wander off.

What do we think? I’m not sure which i’d go for, but i am pretty shy and self concious so i’d probably pass up the opportunity so as not to have to talk to a stranger or offend them or run the risk of being thought of as a weirdo in a bush with a camera :/
