Big Apple(s)
I was walking around in Brooklyn when I saw this huge ad for Ipods. I thought, hmmm…, they don’t call New York “Big Apple” for nothing! ;)
This looks like selective colouring but it’s not really. I did desaturate the surrounding slightly to bring out the orange but things were alreay very grey due to the industrial architecture and the weather being overcast.
This is Manhattan in the background.

What a great idea beautifully executed – the desaturation works a treat and I love the juxtaposition between the foreground tree silhouettes and the Manhattan skyline.
