How well framed and composed is this shot! The fact that you can’t see her eyes is just so effective because it not only adds to the sense of mystery, it really leads your eye across the image to seek out more information about her, even before you realise you’re doing it. I love the sepia-style toning which really brings out the highlights in the hat and lifts that bokkeh very effectively. And finally the patter of shadow across her face and the textures it creates is just masterful. This is an exceptionally accomplished piece.
