Mono Lake Sunset
Mono Lake is believed to be 1-3 million years old and one of the oldest lakes in North America. The tufa towers rise out of the water due to the unique water chemistry. It is almost 3 times as salty as the ocean.

Excellent sense of depth to the image, with the use of the unusual rock formations and a moody sky.

i love how you made it look so vast. beautiful angle, love the colors. 3x as salty as the ocean, huh? interesting… :)
Doug Scott replied
Than-you, and yes, 3x as salty. The only thing that lives in the water are brine shrimp and you can pick them up by the hundreds.

And i thought the beach i went to this summer was amazing. This blows it outa the water by far!! I love the way u captured it. The angle, the natural lighting. Realy wanna go for a swim in it :] lol
Doug Scott
Thanks, Lucine, and people do swim in it. Easier to float due to the high salt content.
