watercolor painting 18″ × 24″ on Arches cold pressed paper
The Aguasabon (pronounced Ah-gwa-saw-bon) Golf course in Terrace Bay has a club house that is nestled at the base of terraced land above which, until recently closing, the pulp mill belched white smoke into the air.
Although it’s a relatively short golf season north of Lake Superior, the location is beautiful and it’s a charming 9 hole public golf course.
Wow, Douglas, at first glance I thought this was a photo digitally painted – THEN I saw your name and that it was indeed a watercolor! Soooo well done, my friend! The trees on the hillside, the deck verticals, and the perfectly colored and rendered shadows – wow! I’d love to take lessons! – Pat
Outstanding, as usual ! You are the quintessential painter of all things…… of anything. And, it looks as if you do your work with such ease and confidence. Perfectly beautiful piece Douglas.
Thanks; I have to admit that the more I paint, the more confident I get.

This is truly magnificent Doug. I think you are the ‘Master of Snow’ and of composition! You do these cool scenes so well and so convincingly.
Hi Lynda! Thanks so much. Where I live we have about 6 months of winter, so one gets familiar with snow scenes!! LoL.

My dad would probably try to play it year round. LOL Wonderful detail in this gorgeous snow scene, Douglas.
Thanks Jim; if the snow ever goes away I think I will play this course for the first time this summer!
