Walkers Lake

Watercolor painting on Arches 12” x 16” cold pressed 140lb paper

Typical early morning scene on Walkers Lake, just west of Schreiber Ontario on the north shore of Lake Superior.

The dew sparkles on the leaves as the sun’s rays slowly warm the air, evaporating the mist. The gentle lapping of the water against the side of his aluminum boat welcomes the early rising fisherman to this northern paradise.

The simplest a painting is, the better it is…Your painting is a perfect example of this.
Your limited palette of greens and blue/greys is pure magic with the haze. All gives an atmosphere full of mystery only troubled, it seems, with the birds chirping…..

Beautiful work…it reminds me of the times my husband and I would go fishing in the early morning and it would look just like this…and it was so quite except for the water lapping at the edges of the boat…you could actually hear the earth waking up.
