This was taken on a frosty winter evening just after the mist cleared to give this crisp image.
The monument is an all year round attraction with museum displays celebrating Scotland’s national hero William Wallace made famous world wide with the film Braveheart starring Mel Gibson.
From the top there are spectacular views of the Forth valley and the Ochil hills.
Welcome to the site. Love the frost on the trees. That must be taken near SNH’s offices.
You could be right. There were research parks I think. It was dark and I was a bit miserable having not captured any decent images all day after traveling up single track roads in the snow and fog. Headed back towards Stirling and found this.

Aye, that would be the place. As long as you get one good image, a trip is worth while.
