Swans, at Margrove Park, NYM National Parkby dougie1
these four swans arrived on the lake last autumn, they were fine, but a pair on another lake objected. fierce battles raged, and these four beautys decided to leave. the resident pair built (several) nests and now have five well grown cygnets, more of which can be seen HERE
thanks lyn, the light was rather special that day, i manged a half dozen shots around this one! a little history, these beautiful babes arrived at the lake, and settled nicely in lake 2. unfortunately the first arrivals (on lake one)objected, and several battles took place, until all newbies left the lake.subsequently , you will have seen the new babies!. there are two more swans on a third lake, and today, i was feeding mr swan sweet corn directly out of my hand. xx
What a wonderful capture. Simply gorgeous light and colour. They could go on our site as long as you wrote a bio saying where they were, we would love to have them. love and hugsxxx

Dougie, they’re beautiful! And the deep color of the background water lends a wonderful contrast to their light color.
