Cheers for that, I’ve always walked from Sandsend.. it looks interesting from here.. I also noticed on the map there’s a waterfall :-)
    Thanks :-)

  • just having a look, there are 4 waterfalls there. go down low lane, left at the x roads, stop at the tight bend, (says FB)park with the ford infront of you, on the right hand side, that side is in my pics, left goes down into the estate, 7 falls in the area!

I’ll definitely be having a look when it’s the rainy season again.. I saw there were more waterfalls, but I tend to head for the named ones, they are generally bigger. Biggerdale Hole Waterfall.

there is one that you will never have heard of. i have never seen it, it is not public knowledge, is on privat land, and generally no access is granted, 5 mins from home. as big if not bigger than falling foss! got your attention?

i have provisional permission to enter, though i want to verify that, and see if i can get to enter at some set times, winter, rainy etc. there are deer there and some shooting parties go in, i will try to get permission say for 5 people?, and make up a party. it may take me some time, but i don’t like to be pushy. it is private, and my experience, is “slowly slowly catchee monkey”
