The elusive heron

I’ve been trying to pic a heron for weeks, ever since spotting one in a superb location standing on a wier in the picturesque setting of Egton bridge, shown earlier on my page. i was on the wrong side of the river, peeking through a hole in a hedgerow, and although i got a couple of not very good shots off, he spotted me and took off! Been trying ever since.

    Nice in-flight shot! I actually got within 5 foot of one last week, or I should say he got within 5 ft of us. At a local park he was boss hog and came between us and the canadian geese for any food we might have (which we didn’t…lol)

    are, but these are wild, and dont take food from strangers! there are one or two pics of my efforts so far!! caught one this morning but he saw me coming and was off!
