shots taken this very day of a local waterfall. the passage through has been stopped by the nym warden, who had to declare a bridge unsafe. found with great amounts of water flowing, even tho there has not been any rain fall.

dougie.
been sitting here just lookin at yr image. yr capture of the colours,in and out of the shade, and the clarity is great. But apart from that, this image evokes that rare “i wanna be there too” feeling. marvellous shot.

why thank you mr flanigan! and welcome. this is a little known fall in my immediate vicinity. i looked in last week and the flow was minimal, but today the flow is as you see, although there has been no rain!

Hmmm, this looks like Scaling Beck Foss, or have you found a new one? Giz a clue…........
dougie1 replied
oh, and there are 2 more and a weir there. the one that you and the big fellerwent to is approached from ridge lane ,after passing the first one, follow the path.it is an unclassified public road. you come to a bridge over another stream coming from the other fall, which is called keld hole falls. over the bridge, 50yds up the hill is a path to the right heading down.the path is quite hard, bridges in bad repair i failed to get through. the main bridge has now been removed for safety reasons, and will be missing for several weeks. looks like a big fall. i will put a pick up othe area.
dougie1
well…as it is a fall with no name….lol
dougie1
have put 3xpics up, entitled temp file1,2,3 this is as far as i could get to keld hole falls

Dougie, Tarn Hole looks big and worth a visit but it looks very hard to get to. I intend a winter visit when there is less under (and over) growth.

make sure you got your boots on! ive been twice more to that fall, once only a trickle, this one as you see with good flow. but there has been no rain. appears that it is fed direct from scaling dam. on the day in question, it was hot, no rain, but the wind was blowing the water against the dam. so theres a pointer!

Lovely shot the rain probably came from Scotland (;-)
