Transporter Bridge , Middlesbrough
Well known to football fans, this sits slightly upstream from the Riverside stadium, and the old Middlesbrough dock. i was trying out my 11/18mm lens, as i could not make it fit my others. there are quite a few pics of this wonderful bridge, some others on my page, and definately on Robert Hardy’s.
this bridge is crossing a large stream! lol.

Considering the extreme wide-angle it has come out very well.
Well done Dougie
I always forget but a combination of images to make a panarama may also have worked here.

tnx H! never tried that, only messing about sticking prints together. i think the after work would be too time consuming. will try it when i have more spare time

If you want to try stitching photo’s together, try Autostitch.. it’s free, does a good job and doesn’t take long.. let me know if you want more info :-)
Rob had to use my wide angle lens with his Canon 5D ( full sensor ) to get it all in shot… my wide angle lens and my Canon 350D without full sensor coped, but not as well as Robs.

It easy to miss comments on Redbubble… I do it all the time :-)

is that a free download alan?
Rob Hardy, about 1 month ago
Nice job Dougie, it’s very difficult to get this shot without tipping the lens up and distorting the elegant lines of the bridge. You need a massive wide angle, I borrowed Alan’s 10mm Sigma to get this

yeah i’ve seen this pic by a few people. i bought my 11×18 especially for this shot, but i wont go there in the dark!

Dougie,
just noticed you asked about the Autostitch, yes it is a free download…. but I now know you have a MAC.. unfortunately Autostitch doesn’t support it :-(
