At Rest
At least in the part of Newfoundland I visited, all the coves, bays and inlets were protected by high hills. Here, in Fleur de Lys, I managed to capture a scene with the fishing vessels at rest in the harbour with the hills as a backdrop.

This is beautiful Stan! I like the dark background of the trees – it’s an interesting variation of a boat on the water shot.
Stan Wojtaszek replied
Thanks a lot, Leanna.

Thank you very much, Margarete!

The perfect lighting on the boats has them popping from the darker forested mountainside and water. The reflections of the boats on the water are lovely on this nicely composed shot! : )

Thank you very much, Sandy!

I lived in this town too when I was very young..my father was a fisherman and we lived there for over a year. Got friends all over Canada from this little town! What a small world, eh? :))
Stan Wojtaszek replied
The world is a surprisingly small place sometimes ! On one of my visits I was talking to an older gentleman. He lives somewhere in BC. but was back visiting friends and relatives. So, yeah, people are spread across the country, if not the world.
Gail Bridger
Yes…they say if all the newfies went back to Newfoundland the island would sink!!! :))
Stan Wojtaszek replied
Ah!! I don’t believe that. Might tip a little but I don’t think it would roll over. lol.
