I’m thinking the orange “stuff” is some sort of lichen (?). There aren’t too many rocks showing so I’ve no idea how much of this is around.

Fine light and contrast here Stan. I assume this is on a Wabigoon shoreline. If so you might find it interesting that certain orange lichens, especially on rock surfaces along bodies of water are there because they get their major nutrients from bird droppings, probably in this case gulls. Just some trivia for the day ;o)
