This etegami was painted with sumi ink and water soluble gansai paint on a soft washi card. Etegami is a traditional Japanese folk art usually done on postcards, and meant to be sent through the postal service to someone. This is dedicated to all artsy/craftsy mothers who treasure anything made by their children’s own hands over something store-bought any day.

Featured in Inspirational Greeting Cards group.

I am a professional Japanese-to-English translator and an Etegami artist. Etegami is a traditional Japanese folk art that combines thoughtful words with simple images painted on washi paper.

Adorable work as always. In order to keep this in the Just For You challenge, it needs a dedication in the description and entered into the group. Thanks!

  • It’s already in the group from quite a while ago, but I’ll add the dedication. Sorry!
