    Hi again, Debbie:
You must have been Japanese in a former life! Your style doesn’t seem forced or copied, but instead seems channeled from some ancient Japanese master artist! And your style also has a lovely whimsical quality we see in the Netsuke carvings. I miss Japan!
    Cordially, Ellen

  • Thanks, Ellen. I have lived in Japan since birth, so it isn’t surprising that it comes naturally to me. But unlike most fine traditional Japanese Arts (with a capital A), Etegami is a roughly-hewn folk art (with a small a), with few rules, and there are certainly no “ancient master artists.” It suits me, and it is very accessible to anyone who loves the medium. :)
