Moth in the Sweater Drawer by dosankodebbie

An etegami with a slight element of collage. The moth is painted with sumi ink and water-soluble gansai paint on a soft washi card. A sweater is expressed with a bit of lacy washi. The accompanying words are a reference to Matthew 6:20: “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

I am a professional Japanese-to-English translator and an Etegami artist. Etegami is a traditional Japanese folk art that combines thoughtful words with simple images painted on washi paper.
