Sorrow
Fractal made in Apophysis
Yet, O stricken heart, remember, O remember
How of human days he lived the better part.
April came to bloom and never dim December
Breathed its killing chills upon the head or heart.
Doomed to know not winter, only spring, a being
Trod the flowery April blithely for a while,
Took his fill of music, joy of thought and seeing,
Came and stayed and went, nor ever ceased to smile.
Came and stayed and went, and now when all is finished,
You alone have crossed the melancholy stream,
Yours the pang, but his, O his, the undiminished
Undecaying gladness, undeparted dream.
All that life contains of torture, toil, and treason,
Shame, dishonor, death, to him were but a name.
Here, a boy, he dwelt through all the singing season
And ere the day of sorrow departed as he came.
Robert Louis Stevenson. In Memoriam F.A.S.

Amazing! Beautiful quote, too!

Its very nice, looks like smoke, with a green thing behind.
But with a lot of these fractals its hard to see the fractal nature,
like I wouldn’t have recognised this as a fractal if it were not in the fractal section.
Whereas if you look at my mandelbrot set fractals, even they are not ‘true fractals’,
since they dont contain exact copies of themselves at smaller scales,
you can clearly see ‘similar’ shapes at smaller and smaller scales.
Nice work though!

very calming image. I like this a lot! :o)

This is what I like best about Apophysis. It is much more free and loose, really more chaotic. But if you look close you can see the repetition in the green thing behind. Also the white repeats loosely to the right. So, instead of trying to create perfect fractals, I look for an image in random chaos. An image that means something to me and hopefully to others as well.
Thank you all for your kind comments. I appreciate it.

A glorius fractal – beautiful movement with minimal colour. Very beautiful.

Lovely with beautiful colour.

Like parsing the words of a song takes away the enjoyment of music for
me, I would rather not analyze a beautiful image, rather simply enjoy
looking at it, and this one gives my eyes much pleasure.

Nice design. I don’t know anything about designing fractal, but I sure like to look at it.
