My passion as a photographer is to capture the mood of a scene as well as the essence of a thing.
In my photos I enjoy bringing out the personality and uniqueness of what I see. When shooting outdoors I’m attracted by the calmness of scenes and I try to capture and convey that.
The driving force behind making pictures is my interest in anything naturally beautiful, recording moments and documenting the complex simplicity of our surrounding.
I started getting serious about taking photos in 1999 when I was given a film SLR camera as a present by a very good friend of mine, who knew how much I loved taking pictures and how limited I was with my point-and-shoot camera to capture what I saw.
Apart from going through a steep learning curve on how to operate a camera properly, my style, subject and processing has changed over the years. Currently I primarily produce black & white photographs. And as I love being outdoors travelling and hiking, my main subjects are nature and landscapes.
I was born on 29 March 1973 and grown up in a small town called Lauter, in Saxony, Germany. After living in Switzerland and Norway for a few years, my sense of adventure brought me to England in 2001; just to see what it’s like living there. I have been living in Bournemouth, Dorset, England since then.
Thank you very much for visiting and I hope you enjoy browsing my gallery.
