Peering through an opening in the earth, the friends are shocked to see the dim, glimmering lights of the city far below. They never knew they were living underground. After they find the journal they are faced with a very steep climb that takes hours, but when they get to the top they discover the outside world, and through a series of events they find a cave leading to a cliff that shows the city miles below.

Words taken from The city of Ember and is a post-apocalyptic novel by Jeanne DuPrau that was published in 2003.About 2 friends Lina and Doon.
Now I haven’t read this book yet…..but now I think I might!!…x
I asked our Lovely Linaji for a wee hand in helping me to name my Artwork as I was a bit stuck…..Lina likes the word Elan: elan – a feeling of strong eagerness (usually in favor of a person or cause); “they were imbued with a revolutionary ardor”; “he felt a kind of religious zeal” and I like the word Doon………and so it became Elan Lina Doon …….which I then googled…lol….and wiki produced this about a book…….xxx
