DonThornton

Don Thornton is a gifted all around fine artist, illustrator, graphic designer and web master. Don Thornton has been creating incredible visual images for well over 30 years. Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, 35 miles south of Cleveland, Don took up Commercial Art at Akron Central-Hower where he graduated in 1973 with a 3.8 GPA along with winning the “Craftsmanship Award” for most outstanding Senior Graphic Designer.

Don earned a full scholarship to play basketball at Fairmont State University in Fairmont West Virginia where he majored in Fine Arts, and was considered a very gifted college fine arts major. Don won several awards and took “Best of Show” during an all campus “Fine Arts Competition” as a freshman while competing against Seniors and Graduate Students.

After college, Don continued his art career as he worked for several graphic design studios in Akron, Ohio. He moved to California in 1990 to further pursue his graphic arts career during which time he created several charitable events. He founded “Don’t Give Up! Incorporated” in November of 1993, of which during its existence was a popular Los Angeles Human Crisis Organization. Don continues his charitable work with his Urban Guardians Parrtnership and his Gifts to the World Project.
