    Adrian, are any of these locales you show us actually real or are they composites of your own invention? Everything you create is about these remarkable places out of some strange clinical reality and I always find myself asking, “Is this for real?” So I just had to ask you. If you’d rather not explain, I’ll understand. :7}

  • Adrian Donoghue replied

    Hi Mark, thanks for the comment. The content of the vast majority of my images is ‘as taken’, this one has had a few extraneous objects removed to clean it up a little. The ‘clinical’ look is mostly about photoshop manipulated light, colour, and shading.

    It feels like a surreal dream of looking back into a child’s past on a fishing trip. Great use of line work. Just love it!

  • Ted Byrne

    This palette is wizardry. You imagine a coating of chrome that is so wonderfully fictional. It’s the same sort of mood which playwrights craft in a theatrical piece. But it’s also like the mood that graphic novelists imagine for their scenes. At first I found the spotlight distracting, but now I cannot imagine this moment without it. You have the gift of wonder Adrian… Thanks for sharing it with us.

    OK here’s my take on this,
    It’s Unreal looking
    Looks Photoshopped up.
    But it has great composition.

  • Marion  Cullen

    Marion Cullen

    Your work is all so visually arresting.
    Here the clean lines, the symmetry & the uncluttered scene creates a most unearthly, surreal and sterile world.
