THis Station on the Western edge of the Simpson desert, was occupied BY one old lady called Molly Clerk, until 2 years ago.HEr Husband had died years before in a plain crash, so she kept going until recent times,She is still going strong and in a home in Alice springs. Interesting shot with the lake in front of the station from the june2010 rains in the red centre. This was taken as a 12 shot Stitched panorama using PTGui pro, and shot in Portrait mode with a NIKon D700 and 24-85mmd lens, on tripod with a NN5 panoramic tripod head view my slide show:
I’m not sure what you’ve done here donnnnnny but there’s something a bit Fred Williams about it… which is by way of saying I really like this image. We’re yet to get this far out but I’d like to think we will have by year’s end. First up this year though, by way of marking our ruby anniversary, we intend to be in this neck of the desert: -23.6859, 141.1111
Jeff thats very kind of you mate, and i thank you Im not sure what the numbers mean , but if you need any information, feel free to contact me
The numbers are latitude, longitude co-ordinates. If you copy and paste them: -23.6859, 141.1111 into the search field on Google Maps you will be taken to the location which is Diamantina NP in Queensland.
Cheers Geoff, if your interested on my home page profile, at the bottom on the RHS is a link to a slide show i did in you tube, the quality is a bit poor due to compression i think, but never the less it will give you a look at the Simpson madegan line
