Fall is my most favorite time to visit Italy’s region of Tuscany. All of the markets, gardens and fields are bursting with produce. Vines in the vineyards are bowing heavily with their fruit and the sun sits lower on the horizon casting a golden glow over all. The Sangiovese grape is the premier grape of this region. Its flavor is so rich and deep that only a few grapes, warm with sunshine, can be eaten at a time.
