oreillys lamington natpark donna malone magpie cat bird
ah, the green and red works wonders together, and who can resist the charms of a one-legged magpie? What fun to be able to look through your journals. I hope one day you consider doing what Hockney did with his Yorkshire sketchbook and put a selection out in print.
I like Donna!! Love their expressions. Birds have been very pertinent to me of late. Messengers.
Thanks Lou, the volumn and diversity of birds up there was incredible and most very friendly and happy to land on your hand for a crumb. i even saw an elusive lyre bird in the rainforest. it was on my ‘must see before i die list’ lol i saw it for a good 10 seconds as it ambled through the undergrowth
Beaut birds!…and lucky you to see a lyre bird…and the cat bird…wonder where the name comes from?
i think it is that bird that cries like a baby – or a cat…very distressing sound
you may or may not know that i adore birds, so this is an absolutely wonderful drawing….the magpie, with his tilted head, has so much character. :-)))
has fun!!! luv it!!
Love your childlike style – both such chatty birds.
