Our Lab Puppy at 8 wks old.
Hemi was a rescue from a kill shelter in Tennessee. We adopted him when he was 8 wks old. At the time we recieved him he was on 4 medications and not eating very well on his own ( I was spoon feeding him). After a couple of days he stopped eating and off to the vet we went. He spent 2 weeks at the vets office with IV’s hooked to him ( I didn’t think he was coming home I was very upset) while they ran tests and pumped him up with puppy power I paced the floors. When Hemi came home he was 8lbs and had 6 meds now for the next 10 days. I boiled chicken ground up with puppy chow and spoon fed him to make sure he received his meds on a full tummy and that all bodily functions were working correctly. After 2 weeks Hemi was eating on his own and received a clean bill of health from his vet. Today Hemi is 1 yr old weighs 85lbs and is extremely intelligent… he sits, lays down, shakes hands, plays ball & retrieves anything, catches a frisbee, plays soccer and walks about 4 miles a day and last but not least wears me out. He is my constant companion and I love him and hope he is with us for a very long time.
