Its fall the air is crisp…You turn down a long dirt drive bordered by stone walls, the drive winds a path thru the pine and oak trees to the front porch of a home built of stone…the stone wall travels on… bordering flower beds and vegetable gardens, its harvest time…the drive continues, it wraps around the house and to the barn and corral which house the horses, cows & chickens…Imagine no streets, no traffic, no homes on the shore.This is the remains of an old estate dating back to the early 1800’s. It sits at the head of the lake surrounded by woods. When you sit on the wall and look out you can only imagine how beautiful & serene it must have been…birds chirping, squirrels scampering, the plunk of a fish jumping from the water…ever so quiet, clean & natural…once upon a time…
