Gold Rabbit Alice by Donna Huntriss

Previously entered into the Brunswick Street Gallery Small Works Prize Entry! I have to re-paint the thin line (ink bled through the Pistachio coloured paint) and now it is entered into the February-March Saatchi online Gallery competition with the chance to win a spot at the London Saatchi Gallery!

This is the finished version of “Blue Rabbit Alice”: where I had drawn in blue biro pen onto PVC plastic. I then painted the reverse side with acrylic paints (Brush and sponge).

Oooo, so sweet! I like the clock design too. :)

  • Ta very muchly Stephanie! I nearly didn’t go with the clock as it was ( with all the leaves) but I am really glad I did. The gold paint I used an old mini paint roller sponge with gold paint and then stuck a buff coloured card for the backing.

Sooooooooooo Gorgeous Donna- love the coloured version and love hearing about your unique way of working too xx

  • Thanks Possum Chop! I am really having a bit of fun with the Alice In Wonderland chararcters and with sponging the back of the PVC it kinda looks like gold/copper. I have since framed the work and will be posted off to the Brunswick Street Gallery’s Small Works Prize! FIngers Crossed!

makes me think of the Jefferson Airplane song “White Rabbit.” lovely blend of colors and super symmetrical design. a circle within a square has always been a favorite ratio of mine. well done.

  • Thanks J.K. York! I don’t think I have ever heard of the “White Rabbit” song?
