This is a painted collage of my strange garden where Oscar the Dragon and topiary can be found.

The Hedge Maze picture in my folio was an ink jet. I made copies of it and stuck layers of leaves to create a larger scene. I went and had it reduced by a laser printer and voila! more of my garden hegde!

Top Ten in Foliage Challenge in the Works on Paper Group – January 2010
Top Ten in “Leaves, leaves and more Leaves!” Challenge in the Impression Cafe Group May 2010.
The original is on A3 Blue tinted 180 gsm paper, and then painted with highlights with acrylics.

Wonderful, mysterious- I love how this undulated gently and pulls you in. Looking forward to more Oscar and Topiary’s xx

  • Thanks Anita! I have yet to do one with Oscar climbing up the hedge. I have a few sketches to play with.

Geez I cant type tonight lol- I meant undulates and I really have no idea if Topiary’s is how you spell it hee hee xx

  • Thanks Anita! I think I struggle with the typing too! Topiary I think is the correct spelling. I am having fun with this collage method. It opens up more options and to recycle some of my other art works into them.

That is one very impressive hedge. Looks like it to you a long time to do. Can’t wait to see Oscar frolicking in this beautiful garden. I can see this as being some children’s story at some point in time. :)

  • Thanks Anne! I have a bird topiary in the hedge garden to upload maybe tomorrow if I have time! Hopefully I will get OScar finished at some stage!

Ooops…I’m joining in with Anita. Should be “Looks like it to*ok* you…” :)

  • The collage is the easy bit, though I do end up with a lot of bits of scrap confetti all over the place!

wonderful art , so much detail

  • Thanks Danita! The collage work isn’t that labour intensive but painted the highlights are the main detail work.
