While He Slumbers
He sleeps……
……….I watch….
I like the way your breath
comes and goes.
Stillness that quiets……
my own breathing.
I like the feel…..
of my hand…….on your skin.
A smooth…….waterfall…..
of cascading feelings….just warms me.
Your lips move
as thoughts drift……in your head
I catch those words….
in my own mouth
to help your slumber deepen.
I saw your fingers lift….
one…by…one
as if stroking….your dreams.
There is a gentle…almost boyish innocence
I want to snuggle up to and hold gently to me.
While you sleep….I steal your smiles
and drink them down.
Every sigh that passes
your lips…..are boxed away with music.
Last night I feathered your cheeks with my lashes.
I took your hand and placed it on my heart….
so we could dream together.
Then
I slept
deeply
sharing
your smile….as mine.

Sometimes imagination can be a comforting diversion. I love living and feel blessed to be able to experience life within each day that comes. Grateful I am and thirsty I will always be for more.
