Weeks of lost time only to awaken with the blooming grace and fragrances teasing my nose. As though I were living inside fiction as someone who had fallen asleep on the floor of the forest surrounded by Violets and Butterflies. Nothing was the same, summer had gone and renewal was making it’s presence known this morning. Mellow air drifting in the fall like breezes coming through the windows… or was it? Opening my eyes I thought it could be as unreal as the last few weeks of surreal imaginings. White enamel frames showcased the scene playing outside. Behind the top panes it seemed like living art which faded into a shaded version of the same view behind screens where a cool wind was definitely signaling the change of season. I lay here listening to the leaves softly clap as if bathing me in mock ocean sounds because I knew it was far away. Closing my eyes, I could hear the melody of the Sparrows and Finches, a Squirrel or two squabbling about whose nest it really was and the ever present Crickets and Tree Frogs just tuning their violins and baritones. Everyone seemed so excited that Fall was coming early this year which meant snuggle time was here! Nature being what it is with it’s opinion that we should ALL be loving the one we’re with, meant snuggles and cuddles are sure to enjoy a long, loose and exciting season this year:)
Fireplaces will light up with lovers silhouettes as they feel the evening in each others eyes capturing moments to warm them on cold nights alone. Kitchens will begin to waft smells that entice our senses into trashing the diets in favor of flavor and winter pounds to keep us warm. The big three Holidays will be upon us and we’ll use them as excuses to eat, laugh, sing and hold each other closer longer and play sibling catch up and whats new with you. We’ll anticipate the New Year as the shedding of the fat ingested weak moments we didn’t have the stamina to fight any longer. January 1, our trigger to once again find the routine sanity in which to begin again. Our reward for all the giving through the holidays will be our last of the big three. Valentines will reward us with a week of moving in and out of that euphoria where romance reminds us of what is most precious in life, love and chocolate:)
Fall was surely stealing into the room this morning and with her a beauty that filled my spirit with an excitement of wanting to embrace each gift in the path ahead. I just have to wonder if that isn’t why we are given seasons in nature, to show us how change and renewal is embraced naturally and perhaps to encourage us to do the same.
Good Morning :)
