This Hero is a member of the Kansas Patriot Guard, a group of vets that honor fallen vets by riding their motorcycles be-decked with American and POW flags, as escorts for Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force that are being laid to rest.

This particular gentleman is a veteran of 2 and one half years in Viet Nam and the holder of the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.

He was participating as a Patriot Guard at my favorite cousin’s funeral a couple of weeks ago.

My cousin was a Marine. A veteran of WWII, Korea, and two tours of Viet Nam. He paid his dues to his country.

No matter what one’s feeling of this war or that, the young and old men and women who are actually part of it deserve our highest awe, honor, and respect.

Back again!

For whatever reason, it seems that I get off on a tangent of some sort, and find myself without RedBubble in my life. The format, etc., is so much different than before. Good different, not bad.

I hope to hook up with a number of old friends here. I miss them.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work. It’s much appreciated.

This is awesome. I love what these guys do for our fellow veterans. I was seriously contemplating on joining these guys (I’m a veteran of Panama and first Gulf War) but totaled my motorcycle in an accident a few months back ……

Thank you all. This gentleman was a neighbor of my cousin, and evidently they spent hours commiserating with one another. I’m a Navy vet, but thankfully, (I guess) I was discharged just before the real stuff started in Viet Nam. In some ways I’m sorry that was the case. I’ve never seen such a brotherhood as those that go through combat together. Andy, thank you. For all you’ve done, and for all you stand for. And thanks for pointing out “respeck” in the tags. I’m just an old Missouri boy that ended up in very rural Kansas, so maybe I could use that as an excuse. Or maybe I’m just stupid. Much more likely!

Sorry about your bike Andy. The Patriot Guard are fantastic, and a real blessing to those left behind.

    God bless you all
