Ancient Lingfield Church: St Peter and St Paul.
Lingfield Village and Church. Surrey, UK.
Lingfield is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge district of Surrey, England. It is most famous for its horse racing course, Lingfield Park. Lingfield lies to the east of a section of the A22 which runs between Godstone and East Grinstead. Dormansland is a neighbouring village. The Prime Meridian passes to the east of Lingfield.
The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul was rebuilt in 1431, although the original 14th century tower remains. Its collection of brasses and monuments are amongst the finest in England, including the impressive tomb of Reginald de Cobham, 1st Baron Cobham. There had been a church on the site for some centuries before the 14th century building.

The area around the church has been designated a conservation area and includes many well-preserved buildings from the 16th to 18th centuries. In the main street, there is a cross and village cage.
