Cold Letters, Warm Heart: Snowy Letterbox by

Cold Letters, Warm Heart Snowy Letterbox.
West Norwood, London, UK.
Camera Details Nikon D700 with 28-300mm Nikon Lense. ISO 200, 13seconds at f/16.0, focal length 62mm. Tripod Mounted.

At 6.45am this morning, I wandered out around the streets where I live in London to capture some shots of the heavy snow that had fallen overnight. It was beautifully soft and powdery snow. I only fell over once:-) but didn’t hurt myself or the camera. I was a bit more careful after that though. I’m a great big kid when it comes to snow, love it. Must be my Scottish blood…

Check out my Blog for a few more snowy snaps.

Fabulous shot Don, must be the Scots in you, nothing quite like walking in fresh snow is there?

  • Hi Lynne, I think it is, I’ve always loved being out and about in the snow. Thanks my friend. Don.

Magical capture Don, how nice to be out and about before the masses in the stillness and peace of it all!!

  • Hey there Tainia, thanks so much for that. It was quite strange seeing people trying to get their cars going and slippin and sliding all over the place. I just love the early morning snow.

I think this letter box has featured in quite a few of your photos in recent months! Looks great against the white of the snow. I bet you couldn’t wait for daybreak to get out there and I’m glad the snow cushioned your fall.
    Great work old friend
    Peter

  • You are right Peter, but this one is just around the corner from the other:-) It’s just one of those features that jumped out at me this morning. I’m going up to Dulwich Woods in a few minutes to see what glories await in the deep snow… It’s always great to grab shots whilst it’s around. May all be gone tomorrow…
