Winding Woodland Walk by

Winding Woodland Walk.
Camera Canon S90.
Captured on a bleak and dismal day at a high point overlooking the Cuckmere River about half a mile from Alfriston, East Sussex, UK.

I was captivated by this little pathway from the car park just off the Alfriston Road, to the viewing point overlooking the Cuckmere. Such glorious views of the valley, but not today, because of the rain, I’ll definitely be going back with my tripod, Nikon D700 and some ND filtres:-) Great to get out and find such places, thanks for the tip from Larusmaver and Mike Bovington.
Here’s the view I’ll be going back for…

    Lovely image Don.

  • Hi Thank’s Jacqui. I’ve just discovered that there’s a White Horse further down the side of the hill that I didn’t even know about. Amazing. I loved the views from here too, but it’ll have to wait for another day.

Many MANY years ago I used to come here quite frequently with my dad and his fellow camera club members – it was a popular location for their regular outings. This is a wonderful photo of a very picturesque place!
    regards

  • Wonderful Peter, I’ll bet the little view in the side panel will bring back memories for you then? I’ve just discovered that there’s a White Horse further down the side of the hill that I didn’t even know about. Have you been to see that too? Amazing. I loved the views from here too, but it’ll have to wait for another day.

Like the winding path and grass and wild flower verge, at least you out in the dismal weather, hope today we see some sunshine. Look forward to seeing the views when you next go back.

  • In the rain, if in doubt, head for the woods because you’ll always capture something:-) LOL. I’ve just discovered that there’s a White Horse further down the side of the hill that I didn’t even know about. Amazing. I loved the views from here too, but it’ll have to wait for another day.
