These Boots Were Made For Walking by

These Boots Were Made For Walking
Timberland Boots.

An artist / photographer can find inspiration from everyday objects all around him. If we look at light and colour, shape and form, utility and presence, we’ll not go far wrong. Open your eyes and you’ll see artisitic opportunities all around you.

Photo Manipulation For this image, I took several shots of the boots at different exposures, HDR in Photomatrix Pro, then some layering work in Elements with two seperate textures of wood. The floor is my hallway andthe boots belong to Junior, my Son-in-law. Copied the original background layer, did a colour overlay, blurred, then some dodging and burning and eraser work to reveal more of the boots through the textures. That’s it, simples really:-) LOL.

Camera Nikon D700 with 105mm Sigma Macro.

Are you ready boots?
Start walkin
Yee haw
C’mon
Let’s go

You keep saying you got something for me (uh)
Well officer I don’t mind to say you do
Now your looking right where I thought you’d be looking
Legs come handy when laws in front of you

These boots are made for walkin
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you

You believe you’ve stopped me for a reason (uh)
Now I’m pretending my bendings just for fun
You keep playing where I got you playing (yeah)
These double ’D’ initials work to run

These boots are made for walkin
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you

I’m the girl with the good boys who don’t mean you no harm
This gotten way with Hazzard County charm
There ain’t no crime in havin’ a little fun

Swerve my stride
Bat my sexy eyes
Where my boots at (haha)
Strut ya stuff come on

Hey ya’ll
Wanna come and see something (uh uh, uh uh)
Can’t touch, can I get a hand clap for the way I work my back
Tick tock all around the clock drop it
Push ya tush, like that
Can I get a sueee
Can I get a yee haw

You keep thinking what you shouldn’t be thinking
Another to far is down till you kissing ground
I’m a gonna send you back home as you crying
But Uncle Jesse he sure is gonna be proud

These boots are made for walkin
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you

These boots are made for walkin
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you

Come on boots
Start walking
Come on ladies

Hey ya’ll
Wanna come and see something (uh uh, uh uh)
Can’t touch, can I get a hand clap for the way I work my back
Tick tock all around the clock drop it
Push ya tush, like that
Can I get a sueee
Can I get a yee haw

Come on Willie (ohh yeah, owww)
Yeee haw
Willie Nelson everybody (uh)
Let’s go home now

Song Lyrics by Jessica Simpson.

Also sung by Nancy Sinatra of course! Nice one Don and I never knew there were so many verses to the song – so unlike a lot of modern songs where almost every other word is the same! LOL
    Cheers now,
    Peter

  • Hey there Peter, you know I forgot that Nancy did that song too, and I remember listening to her on the old red radio we had when I was a kid. Thanks for the reminder. With this image I just wanted to show that sometimes the simple things in life can be really interesting too. Regards, Don.

    Fantastic Work!

  • Hey there Rajeev, thanks so much for that my friend. Just wanted to show how something ordinary can be made to look extraordinary. It’s a bit like what God does with people the world wouldn’t ordinarily consider very much. You know, a diamond when it comes out of the ground is rough around the edges, but in the hands of a skilled craftsman it becomes a beauty to behold. Not that I’m a skilled craftsman:-) LOL. Thanks mate. Regards, Don.

  • Hey there Richard, thanks very much for that mate. I picked it up from a magazine and it works quite well for a lot of images. Don.
