The Scrum: England V Argentina Nov 2009 by

The Scrum: England V Argentian 14th Nov 2009. England playing for the first time ever in a purple strip.

It was a blustery day with high kicking rugby. England and Argentina played their hearts out, but England came out the winners. Johnny Wilkinson played a blinder of a game, but he missed three penalty shots. Argintina played very well and it seemed at times they were about to take the lead by scoring a try. However, England held on and eventually won the scrappy match.

England were playing for the first time ever in a purple strip.

As usual, I enjoyed really the occasion, cheering for England doesn’t come naturally to a Scotsman, but I was the guest of a good English friend:-) We had good company on the way to the game, a meal in the Turk’s Head Pub and some great conversation about the match on the way back.

Captured with a Nikon D700 and 70-300mm Sigma Lense.

This is a very good photo young fella! No heads in the way which is often the case. Good work. Regards, Peter

  • Hey there Peter, I know, I know, but England still got beat by the Wallabies didn’t they? I had quite a good view from the middle tier of the East Stand. Don.

  • Hey there AuntieBarbie, thanks so much, it was a really bad Kicking game, but I’m sure next week will be different against the All Blacks. Thanks again, Don.
