This image was captured whilst out walking on the Southbank in London with my son Richard. I really like the detail in the tower and the architecture is stunning.

Take a peek at another view of Big Ben (St Stephen’s Tower).

A really super shot Don and a great angle. You just HAVE to admire the workmanship of that era don’t you? And it’s just kept on faithfully recording the time for all to see – even Hitler and, before him, Kaiser Bill, were not able to stop it. Terrific mate. Peter

  • Hi Peter, thanks for that, I love the detail in many of the London buildings, but the houses of Parliament are just great.

Nice shot Don, love the detail (and the correct name!!!)

  • Hi Mark, I didn’t know what was best for naming this shot, but plumbed for St Stephen’s Tower. I know that most people will know it as Big Ben. Thanks, Don.

Fabulous shot of this amazing clock. I want to be standing outside on New Years Eve and listen to that fantastic chime,

  • Me too Lyn, the noise of the party is something wonderful too. Don.

Had a look through your shots… excellent… one day I will get to London… I have always been fascinated by it… love the history of London – my ex b/f who is from Harrow use to tell me I knew more about London then the Londoners… hehehe… one again… great shots.

  • Hi Flissy, thanks for that, you could probably tell me then where the best places to go at the right time of the day to catch the best light? I know that the Embankment is best photographed from the South in the afternoon to get the best view’s of St Paul’s, but that’s about it. I’ve only just arrived in London. But you’re right, it’s got great history. Many thanks, Don.

Seeing as I’m writing about a dysfunctional government not too far away in the future, I find this especially inspiring!

  • Sorry I missed you comment, thanks for the thoughts on the Government. The Elections are in a few days time, make you vote count:-) LOL.
