My TOP Photo since joining Redbubble in Sept 2008
Hi friends,
I just wanted to let you all know that 2008 was a remarkable year for me; way tooo many friends and relatives died, I got a new job, a new home and a new City to live in. However, through it all, my faith and the hobby I’ve chosen as an outlet have kept me going. Thanks to all who’ve commented on my Father’s death, I feel richly encouraged by your response and comforting words.
Here’s the photo people seemed to like the most from all that I’ve uploaded.
A Light Unto My Path
There were 103 Comments; 28 favouritings and 307 views.
I am especially encouraged by the comments upon the work. It’s one of my favourite places on earth. Plymbridge woods is only a 30min drive from Plymouth, but you enter another world, one full of imagination, excitement and allurement. The green valley, the river, the bridges, the pathways. Wonderful!
Thanks Again!
Hope you all have a FANTASTIC 2009. Donald.

Hi Don, I’ve never been very good with words when it comes to loosing loved ones. I do know that your faith will give you the strength needed to support you & your family through these times. Your father has moved on not passed away as I’m sure you’d agree.
As for your hobby, could so easily be a profession. However I wouldn’t imagine for a second you would leave your chosen path & I wouldn’t suggest you did.
I would suggest your photographic talent could be used to further your day job in many ways.
Best wishes for 2009 Don

Looks great Don, but for me I see one thing, HUMIDITY !
I don’t know how humid it gets where you are, but here in Wisconsin the humidity starts in about June, and is at it’s worse in August.
And, to go south into the southern states it can be even worse, Florida is out for this cat unless we go in February and even then it is humid.
If we were to walk along a stream like this in about July / August and it was a humid day it would be very sticky and lots of flying bugs and it would not be a plesant walk in a place like this. It looks very nice in a photo, but in real life it looks like it would be humid.
Have a nice day and a great forever.
Remember
God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

Hi Tim, no it never really get humid here except for really hot summer days. The valley does get damp though (very damp) and there’s a thick carpet of moss all year round. The morning mists and fogs make for great photography from April through to Oct and in december we sometimes get a frost in these woods, but it rarely penetrates this deep wooded valley. Thanks for viewing and commenting, have a Great New Year. Yep! I agree with you, God is Good, all the time. Don.

Don if you’ve not tried Glenmorangie Cellar 13 do try to find some. It was never available here in the UK except direct from the Distillery or through duty free. Its now unavailable from the distillery as the stocks are all gone. If you travel abroad & see any do but it.
Trust me I’m a Scotsman. I have one bottle as yet un-opened. Rarety value!!
Another good is Balvenie Double wood. I do like a dram or two!!

I can see why this is so extremely popular Don, you have captured magic! When I study this I feel what I miss most about England, Plymbridge woods through your lens encaptulates the English countryside not only beautifully but with great atmosphere too. Well done you!
I hope 2009 brings you and yours many blessings. Tai xx

Congrats my friend. I’m happy for you as obviously you really love this place and anyone can see it in this image. We do tend to photograph things we love a little bit differently than things we just like. All the best in 2009 my friend. Hugs, Tenia

This indeed is a fabulous photo, Don! I didn’t know about your father’s passing. I remember a photo of him with I believe it is your son. I’m sure you miss him! But you’ll be reunited with him once again – what a joyous day that will be! – Pat
