Red Phone Boxes: Brighton Pier, UK.
Phone Boxes at Brighton Pier. Brighton East Sussex UK.
Captured at Dawn in October 2009.
Camera Nikon D700 with 24-120mm Lense.
My first ever trip to Brighton. I set out to catch a sunrise, but was only greeted by drizzle and a bright grey sky. Ahhhh well, never mind. I’ll try again. But still had to capture a few shots.
What I like about the one is the contrasting colours between the phoneboxes and the green railings.

Irene Burdell
It’s very quiet here this week , I had my three grand children last week , so I was very busy x

It’s the opposite here Irene. We’re preparing for my daughter’s wedding on Saturday and have been invaded:

Great shot Don, nice even / rich colors. Sometimes overcast days are better, I don’t know where the sun would have been in this photo, but if it would have been sunny the lighting would also have been harder casting shadows. To me this is very nice.
If I might suggest, clone out the plane in the sky, it got my attention quickly, it looked like a spot on your lens until I viewed it larger.
DonDavisUK replied
Hi Tim, thanks for that my friend. I know what you mean about the even tones and the little plane, I was in two minds about getting rid. Perhaps I will late:-) God bless and have a wonderful week. Don.

Hi Kira, thanks for viewing and commenting. You’d love it here in Brighton, but it’s much better when the sun is shining, I think. Don.

Our red phone boxes are world famous and good to see them still round in such prominant places as by Brighton Pier, a wonderful slice of UK architecture boosted of course by those wonderful red phone boxes, excellent work Don, PS.,I am overdue another visit to Brighton,
Regards, Rod.
DonDavisUK replied
Hi Rod, I loke the old fashioned ones the best though, there’s something iconic about them, but we photographers must capture our own time slot on this planet too:-) thanks again, and I hope you are well enough to travel soon. P.S. Saw the message in answer to Peter about Chris. You’ve been through a lot recently as a couple, and I hope she recovers soon too. Prayin for you both still. Don.
Tom Gomez
Nice composition Don, shame about the weather, better luck next time …
DonDavisUK replied
Hi Tom, thanks very much mate, but I hope to return again to Brighton soon, and who know what the English weather will throw at us:-) That’s what’s good I think, keeps us on our toes. Alll the best mate. Don.
