  • Brock Hunter

    Brock Hunter

this is fantastic. I keep studying it to try and figure out how it was done.

  • DonDavisUK replied

Hey there Brock. It’s so easy you’d pull your hair out mate. All I did was set it up on a tripod, set a very small apperture, then using the remote and bulb setting, I opened the shutter for about 15secs, then twisted the zoom lense very slowly and stopped open for about another 15secs, violla. The shot you see withouth any tweeks at all. Don.

10 out of 10… Perfect in every way… After seeing this work… I also tried taking a few shots… but all ended being messed up… I m gonna drop u a BMail separately for this… to know the Recipe… Hope you wont mind… lolz. Brilliant Work. You’re an Inspiration.

  • DonDavisUK replied

Hey there Vivek, thanks for that my friend. I’ve missed so many comments over the last few days, busy with work and no internet access since Sat until last evening. I’d be happy to explain how I did this. It’s quite easy really and no secret. You need a zoom lense, a tripod and a steady hand. You can either zoom out to start or right in as I did in this case. Set a very small apperture, giving a long shutter speed. Press the button or remote switch, wait 15secs, then very slowly move the zooom, as you do stop for a few more seconds. I’ve done some shots like this and zoomed out all the way giving a much more pronounced light trail. But I liked the effect in this one. Hope you have some fun with this mate. Don.
